Flim trend report 2026
Role — Lead Art Director & UI-UX Designer
Timeline — 6 month
Skills — Design system, art direction, curation, GenAI, project lead
Context
Flim's first Trend Report on the future of visual storytelling. The goal was double: show Flim beyond its features, and turn a community into leads. A brand statement and an acquisition tool in one, built to position Flim as an authority for creators and designers.
The Challenge
Owned the concept end-to-end, from idea to shipped object
Curated trends from 1.5M references into a usable archive for designers
Built the full design system in Figma
Create responsive landings pages to access and collect datas
Positioned the project and led its rollout: influencer declensions, a timeline of deliverables and posts
Set up data capture to convert readers into users and retain them
Pushed file optimization and natural navigation for a heavy, unconventional document
Result
Both a brand statement and an acquisition engine.
1,000 new leads, 1,600 emails collected, 2,648 new followers at launch and +10K new followers at the end.
10,000+ people reached
13% of the period's new sign-ups came through the report
Praised by teams at Meta, AntiAntiArt, Ocurens and more

The idea
Flim is usually shown through its features. I wanted to show it through what it enables: a community of creators, gathered around a shared object. An archive that gives designers real reference on the trends shaping film and design.

Curating the archive
I named and structured hundreds of aesthetics from the curation, distilling 1.5M references into a readable archive designers can actually use.

One system, built in Figma
A full design system holding the whole object together: type, palette, a consistent grammar across the report, the landing and the launch assets. All built in Figma.

Capturing data
The report was also a funnel: capture readers' data, convert them into users, retain them. Design in service of acquisition.
The hard part: weight and navigation
A conceptual object like this is heavy. I pushed to keep files light and navigation natural. It only partly worked, and it's the first thing I'm fixing for the second edition.

Moodboards
To enter in different trends and aesthetics the curations needs to be a real moodboards and agencement of images to explain visually the concept of what they trying to explain as images.
Collaboration and influence
From January through the end of February, following the launch of the trends report, we kept the initiative alive through video content and collaborations with audiovisual and design professionals from around the world, as well as key figures in these sectors.
